Mission - Our primary mission is to connect Philadelphia runners with homeless dogs as running companions.  We provide ongoing support for various shelter facilities in Philly through sponsored adoption events and daily running adventures for the homeless dogs as they wait for their forever homes.

News:  The ‘Milers are expanding in Feb. 2012 to the Street Tails Animal Rescue in Northern Liberties.

 

Our Goals:

  1. BulletTo offer dogs in the Philadelphia shelters a form of regular, vigorous exercise

  2. BulletBring about a sense of calm in the dogs, to facilitate quicker adoptions

  3. BulletAttend annual running events and races to find loving homes for shelter dogs

  4. BulletEncourage runners to adopt dogs for safety, friendship, and motivation. 

  5. BulletRecruit more volunteers for Philadelphia’s shelters, not only for running purposes.

  6. BulletIncrease public awareness about the plight of the 30,000+ homeless pets that enter Philadelphia’s animal shelters each year.
